A psychiatric consultation with Dr Sivasanker typically lasts 60–90 minutes. During this time, Dr Sivasanker will take a detailed history of your symptoms, background, and any previous treatment you have received. He will then discuss his assessment with you, provide a diagnosis where appropriate, and propose a personalised treatment plan.

A GP referral is not required for a private consultation, although we do welcome referral letters as they provide useful clinical background. You can self-refer by completing our appointment request form, emailing us, or calling directly.

Yes. All consultations are entirely confidential, in line with GMC guidance and the Data Protection Act. Information is only shared — for example with your GP — with your explicit consent, except in rare circumstances where there is an immediate risk to life.

Yes, we accept patients covered by most major private health insurers. Please check with your insurer prior to your appointment and ensure you have pre-authorisation. We also accept self-funding patients and provide transparent fee information on our Fees page.

Yes. Dr Sivasanker offers secure video consultations for patients who prefer to be seen remotely or who are unable to attend in person. These are conducted via an encrypted video platform to ensure complete privacy.
