North London Psychiatry Practice is led by Dr Vimal Sivasanker, a highly experienced Consultant Adult Psychiatrist. With training at the University of Cambridge and St Bartholomew's and Royal London School of Medicine, Dr Sivasanker brings exceptional expertise to every consultation.
We specialise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric disorders — from depression and anxiety to complex conditions including bipolar disorder, OCD and psychosis. Our approach is evidence-based, compassionate and entirely confidential.
Dr Sivasanker also holds a key role as Vice Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Committee on ECT and related treatments, reflecting his national standing in neuromodulation therapies.

A psychiatric consultation with Dr Sivasanker typically lasts 60–90 minutes. During this time, Dr Sivasanker will take a detailed history of your symptoms, background, and any previous treatment you have received. He will then discuss his assessment with you, provide a diagnosis where appropriate, and propose a personalised treatment plan.
A GP referral is not required for a private consultation, although we do welcome referral letters as they provide useful clinical background. You can self-refer by completing our appointment request form, emailing us, or calling directly.
