Evidence-based talking therapies to complement medical treatment and support lasting recovery
Psychological therapies — often called 'talking therapies' — are a core component of treatment for many mental health conditions. At North London Psychiatry Practice, we recognise that the most effective care often combines psychiatric expertise with psychological input, and Dr Sivasanker works closely with specialist therapists and psychologists to offer integrated care.
Professor Robert Bor, our associated Clinical Psychologist, can also provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy for complex presentations.

Explores unconscious patterns, past experiences and their influence on current difficulties. Particularly helpful for personality-related issues and chronic difficulties.
MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) has strong evidence for preventing relapse in recurrent depression.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing — highly effective for PTSD and trauma-related presentations.
